The Sagitarians

Rwandan-born Michael R. Negele aka Mishoo The Drumkit (MC/ songwriter) and Julian Harbarth aka Jewelz (producer), who was born in Tübingen, first met in their school days, though it was no more than a nodding acquaintance at the time. Yet they shared the love of Hip Hop music and eventually hooked up "properly" over MySpace. Several meetings and a few sessions soon led to collaboration.

Early in 2006, they published the songs 'The Duet' and 'Sometimes'. The creation of 'The Sagitarians' soon followed in mid-2006. The name evolved from the English word 'Sagittarius', which represents both artists' zodiac sign. Eventually, at the end of 2006, they drew the attention of the record label IFM International.

The 'Sagitarian' sound is old-school, soulful and jazzy; in harmony with the flow and the voice of the English-speaking MC, whose lyrics deal with experiences and narratives from an 'Afro-European' point of view.
